Manufacturing Engineer

Position Summary:


Ultimate Nutrition is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for their facility, which houses the processing and packaging of various powders, tablets, and capsules for a dietary supplements company. Maintaining the production and quality of output is paramount. This role is responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes and strategies to improve efficiency, total output, and maintain quality.




  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors
  • Implements and manages change controls for projects; lead multidisciplinary teams through all the stages of equipment commissioning projects and/or new product technology transfer from initiation until final approval
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians and operators
  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special services
  • Assures product and process quality by designing monitoring and measurement methods; testing process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with all applicable regulations
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Must be available to work extended hours and rotating shifts, as required
  • Other duties and tasks, as assigned


  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing operations, equipment, and processes
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or demonstrated equivalent education and/or experience
  • Ability to communicate knowledge to peers and colleagues from other departments requiring a thorough understanding of processes, equipment, and facilities
  • Knowledge of cGMP regulations preferred
  • Technical Writing skills and investigations processes
  • Knowledge of practical use of lean manufacturing concepts and techniques
  • Good analytical skills and detail oriented
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Must be self-directed, self-starter, and be able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Enthusiastic, cooperative, and positive behavior/attitude
  • Prior project and general management experience preferred
  • Ability to travel, as required


  • Attendance and punctuality are a must as ongoing production scheduling is vital to the rest of the company
  • Must have a positive attitude in order to motivate the personnel and be able to lead by example
  • Good documentation and communication skills, organized, high attention to detail, self-starter, and team worker
  • Flexibility to change work schedule as required to properly train and evaluate staff and to ensure the company’s goals are met
  • Ability to find, recruit, and develop outstanding talent to meet the company’s needs
